Government Relations

Government decisions can alter the trajectory of a business.

When a company faces a government or parliamentary matter with commercial consequences, it needs a clear reading of how decisions are made.

Paperbark Advisory provides candid, practical advice from someone who has been part of the process.

We advise on how a matter is likely to be received, who decides, and what could shift the outcome.

Experience

Ewan Kelly served as a senior policy and parliamentary adviser to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, having previously advised Prime Ministers Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd, and senior Labor frontbencher Tony Burke.

His work involved Cabinet and government processes, central agencies, parliamentary strategy, legislation, policy development, media and matters of political consequence.

Ewan helped deliver signature government policies including A Future Made in Australia, the National Reconstruction Fund, and housing and NDIS reform.

Prior to government, he practised corporate law at MinterEllison and worked at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
